Hide Emerald Beach is just a few minutes from the Emerald Beach highway turn-off, in a quiet little pocket that feels close to everything but nicely out of the way.

Emerald Beach is a laid-back coastal village on the NSW Mid North Coast, roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. It sits right next to the Solitary Islands Marine Park, where warmer and cooler ocean currents meet. The water here is clean, clear and full of life.

The main beach is great for families and swimming, with solid surf breaks nearby for those who want to paddle out. There are headlands to the north and south with walking tracks that go on for ages, winding through bushland and along the cliffs. You’ll often see kangaroos around the tracks, dolphins cruising past the beach, and whales migrating in season.

The village itself has everything you need close by. Good coffee, a few great places to eat, an organic food store, milk bar, bottle shop and other handy local spots, all without the crowds.

Woolgoolga is about a 10-minute drive and has plenty more cafés, supermarkets and shops. Moonee is even closer at around 7 minutes, and Coffs Harbour is roughly 14 minutes away for larger shopping centres, restaurants, bars and the marina. The jetty is about 15 minutes, and Coffs Harbour Airport around 20 minutes by car.

Summer here is classic beach weather. Winter is quieter, clear and beautiful, with sunny days and empty beaches.

Getting around

There’s a regular bus service between Emerald Beach, Woolgoolga, Moonee and Coffs Harbour. That said, having a car makes it much easier to explore the coast at your own pace.
